Geography in Year 3 has been fantastic this half term! The children have delved into the fascinating world of lines of latitude, including the equator, the Tropic of Cancer, and the Tropic of Capricorn. They also explored lines of longitude and learned how these are used to determine different time zones.
Using Google Earth, the children were able to input coordinates to locate places such as the North Pole, enhancing their understanding of global geography. To showcase their learning, they created their own globes, adding continents, lines of latitude and longitude, and even labelling some countries.
This hands-on approach has made geography engaging and fun for the children, helping them to grasp complex concepts in an interactive way. Well done, Year 3, for your fantastic geographical discoveries!
